Winter

Cooler days call for patience. Teddy adjusts the pace and location as temperatures change.

Spring

Warming shallows make spring a popular time to explore shoreline cover and look for bass.

Early starts help beat the heat. Shade and nearby deeper spots can shape the plan.

Meet Your Full-Time Guide, Captain Teddy Shupe

I’ve been fishing since I was two, and today I get to share that passion through Reel Addict. As a licensed captain, I help guests feel comfortable, understand the equipment and enjoy their time outdoors. You don’t have to fish like a pro to have a rewarding day.

Tell me whether you’re a lifelong fisherman, a parent introducing a child to fishing or someone trying something brand new. My guide service starts with that conversation. We’ll work toward your goals while keeping expectations grounded in what the fish and conditions give us.

We had a very memorable sunset cruise with Teddy. He definitely went up and out of his way to make sure that we had a wonderful time so if you’re in the Crystal River area look Teddy up he’ll take good care of you can’t wait to visit Crystal River again next time we’ll probably do the fishing excursion.

I promised my son that I would take him fishing on the Crystal River! We couldn’t have asked for a better time! Captain Teddy went out of his way to make sure that my son had the full experience! From catching our limit on redfish to frolicking with bottlenose dolphinsto scalloping. We couldn’t have asked for a nicer guide. Thank you so much, Captain Teddy! We will be back again in April.

Teddy put us on fish the minute we hit the spot...3 straight hours of landing redfish. 2 overs slot and mostly all nice size reds. Great vibes and the teenagers enjoyed him. I would definitely suggest him for any crystal river tour. Thanks again Teddy!

Questions About Our Fishing Charters

A few answers before you reserve your date. Please call if you need help choosing a lake or preparing for your outing.

Do you offer trips near Orlando and Kissimmee?

Our listed destinations are Lake Rousseau, Lake Panasoffkee, Lake Hernando and the Withlacoochee River system. Lake Toho and the Kissimmee Chain of Lakes are separate destinations. If you’re staying in Orlando or Kissimmee, confirm the drive before booking.

Do I need experience to fish with a guide?

No. Let your guide know your experience and goals. You can ask questions, practice at your own pace and learn how to approach fish without bringing professional skills.

Can you guarantee trophy fish?

No guide can promise a particular fish or size. Florida bass fishing guides can help you make informed decisions, but fish activity changes. The best Florida bass fishing experience starts with realistic expectations and a flexible plan.

Where can I find the latest reports?

Ask Teddy for the latest lake conditions before departure. Florida fishing guides also use official FWC resources to follow regional information. Recent observations are more useful than assuming a lake will fish exactly as it did last year.

What is your cancellation policy?

$100 non-refundable deposit is due to secure the booking

A completed credit card authorization form is mandatory for all bookings.

If a customer cancels for any reason outside of the captain's decision to cancel, the total balance of the trip is due, and the card on file will be charged.

Nothing will be charged to the card unless the trip is canceled within 48 hours of the scheduled trip.

No shows will be charged in full.
